How to play

Force the computer to complete a triangle in its own color before any three of your claimed edges form one.

  • Six vertices provide fifteen possible connecting edges, and all edges begin unclaimed. You and the computer alternately claim one edge in your own color.
  • Choose any unclaimed edge between two vertices. Claimed edges never move or change owner, and completing a triangle made entirely from your own three edges ends the game at once.
  • Force the computer to complete a triangle in its own color before any three of your claimed edges form one.

Strategy tips

  • Track pairs of your edges sharing a vertex, because claiming the edge between their other endpoints is fatal, and steer the opponent toward several such forbidden edges.
  • Watching only visible geometric triangles misses triangles whose three vertices are connected across the drawing; the complete graph's crossings do not create extra vertices.
  • When few edges remain, list every edge that would close one of your triangles and choose only among the safe edges while checking which safe reply remains for the opponent.

Rules, scoring, and strategy

Sim is a complete browser implementation with its own versioned rules profile. Color edges of the complete six-point graph while avoiding the monochromatic triangle that makes its creator lose immediately.

Setup and opening position

Legal moves and game flow

Choose any unclaimed edge between two vertices. Claimed edges never move or change owner, and completing a triangle made entirely from your own three edges ends the game at once.

Winning and terminal positions

Practical strategy

Track pairs of your edges sharing a vertex, because claiming the edge between their other endpoints is fatal, and steer the opponent toward several such forbidden edges.
