Calculation Solitaire is a rank-sequencing game rather than a suit-building patience. An Ace, Two, Three, and Four start four foundations whose next cards advance by different fixed steps, while four unrestricted waste piles hold cards from a one-pass stock.
The first foundation follows Ace, Two, Three and onward. The second adds two ranks at a time, the third adds three, and the fourth adds four, with every sequence wrapping after King. Each rank appears once in each completed foundation and suit never affects placement.
The exposed stock card may move directly to any foundation currently requesting its rank. Otherwise it must be placed on one of four waste piles before the next stock card can become available.
Only the exposed top card of a waste pile may leave, and it can move only to a legal foundation. Cards cannot transfer between waste piles, so placing a needed rank beneath a distant card can make the deal impossible.
Read the next rank on all four foundations and compare those requests with the exposed waste tops. Keep soon-needed ranks separated, and use a foundation move from waste before covering that card with another stock discard.
