Complete guide
Flood Puzzle is a complete browser implementation with its own versioned rules profile. Expand the connected upper-left region of a three-by-three color grid by recoloring it until every cell carries the deal's designated target color.

Choose any color different from the current upper-left color. Every cell already connected to the upper-left through that color changes together and absorbs matching neighbors.
Make all nine cells part of one flooded region and finish with every cell in the designated target color. Once all remaining outside cells share one frontier color, absorb them together and then make the final target-color move if that color is not already active.
Prefer a color touching several boundary cells of the current region, while planning a later transition to the target color after distant islands have been absorbed. Recoloring only the visible top-left cell misunderstands the move: the entire connected active region changes simultaneously, which may alter several frontier contacts.
